Background:

Carter’s primary responsibility is growing USGBC-Georgia’s role as a leading educator and advocate for sustainable communities, green jobs and green building in Georgia and the Southeast.

Under her leadership, USGBC-Georgia has grown to four active Branches in Atlanta, Augusta, Macon and Savannah; and has Organizing Branches in Athens and Columbus.

The Chapter's Education Programs include: Chapter Delivery Partner for National USGBC LEED Workshops in collaboration with eight Chapters around the Southeast; Education Provider for GBCI Continuing Education; and green jobs/sustainability training with Workforce Investment Boards and Technical Colleges.

Carter has executive-level experience in industries ranging from organic products to non-profit management.

Graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Communications from Wake Forest University

Associations

Serves on the Steering Committee for Atlanta Recycles, the Georgia Conservancy Blueprints Committee and on the Turner Foundation’s Green Schools Roundtable.

She is also serves as a member of DeKalb Technical College’s Green Technologies Advisory Board and on the Industry Advisory Board for Southern Polytechnic Institute – the largest Construction Management Program east of the Mississippi.
