Residential Green

What is Green Building?

Residential Green Building practices include home building and renovations that use water, energy and materials efficiently, while reducing their impact on the physical environment and promoting a healthier indoor environment.

Athough a common perception is that a LEED Home is high-cost, a recent presentation by Roget Platt, Senior VP of Global Policy & Law for USGBC, showed that over 40% of LEED for Homes registrations have been for affordable housing; and, in fact, over 50% of all registrations in the last year have been for affordable housing.

If you want a green home, it is in your reach.   A LEED-certified home is designed and constructed in accordance with the rigorous guidelines of the LEED for Homes green building certification program. LEED for Homes is a consensus-developed, third party-verified, voluntary rating system which promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes.
