Description:
With the intent to become one of the nation's top ten medical schools, Emory University renovated two historic buildings built in 1917. The four-story buildings total 28,000 GSF. A new 124,000 GSF five-level plus penthouse connector building was added and ties into three existing buildings in an urban campus setting. The building houses a gross anatomy lab, morgue, simulation surgery and ER suites, large 170-seat lecture halls, 40-seat seminar rooms, small teaching/conference rooms, and exam labs. Offices are included for faculty and staff as well as the Dean of the School of Medicine. Public spaces include a student lounge with wood lockers, a café, the admissions department, an aquarium, and a two-story atrium and connector bridge.
